Considering recent events developing around the globe, our new reality is staying home, working from home, or just chilling at home. This being the case, making the most of our situation is a great way to stay positive. If you’re like me - a busybody that loves to travel, learn and explore, there are so many options for virtual travel.

I’m constantly planning my next escape, and usually this involves a passport, flight and hotel room. In light of the current situation I’ve had to explore other options to be on the move, without leaving home. It’s definitely possible, more economical, sustainable, and honestly not at all lame.

Given limitations of time and $$$, I probably won’t get to experience most places on my bucket list if I waited to physically travel to these places. To me, an experience is an experience no matter how you experience it. So give this a go; see if it’s for you.

While most Museums offer virtual tours of their own, I’m hooked on Google Arts & Cultures . Google launched its Arts & Culture program with 17 Museum Partners in 2011, today they have over 1000 Museums and places of interest across the globe offering virtual tours, high resolution images of amazing exhibits, articles and stories on global cultures, treasures and crafts. It’s simply an amazing resource.

You can travel to the V&A in London over breakfast, explore the MET over Tea (with your girlfriends on group video, yay!), take a trip through the Taj Mahal today and the Eiffel Tower tomorrow!

Don’t feel confined, the world is your oyster! Remember to stay positive and enjoy life as we get through this difficult time. And most importantly, please stay home, and stay safe.
